- SAGE, Frederick Dalton - Of Cambridge, on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Cambridge Country Manor, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Lillian Schaefer. Dear father of Ronald and his wife Terrie of Cambridge. Loving Papa of Ryan, Ashley and Lindsay. Survived by two brothers, Bill of Alberta, Earl of Ayr; two sisters, Olive Sage and Arlene Jackson and her husband Bob, all of Cambridge. Predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Ada Sage and six brothers, Russell, Vernon, Lorne, Elmer, Blake and Ernie. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and many good friends. Mr. Sage was born in Galt and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of Roseville United Church, a Veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch No. 126. He was retired from Grand River Railway (CPR) and was a longtime farmer and campground owner/operator. He was known for his kind heart and generous nature. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment in Roseville Mennonite Cemetery. Reception to follow at Roseville United Church. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Roseville United Church would be appreciated by the family.
