Notes |
- George Ruppel & Co
consisted of George Ruppel, clerk Fred Ziegner, George Hergott delivery. In those day they opened the store at 7 a.m. and Fred was always on the job. They dealt more in groceries, fruit & chinaware. George Ruppel married into the Vogt family of which the one Prof Vogt was head of the Mendelsohn Choir in Toronto and made quite a name for himself. His father made up the first pipe order [organ] in the old St. James Church. they all [___?] some of the pipes in the present new church. In the earlier years the air had to be pumped to the order [organ!] by hand and I think Edwin [g__?] Hollinger did the pumping.
