Formerly of Milverton, Parkhill and Ailsa Craig, Charter member of Nairn Mennonite Church. Predeceased by his first wife, Emma Lichti in 1940; his second wife, Verna L. Wagner in 1991; his son, David Zehr in 1952; his twin sisters Verdella Leis and Idella Gerber; his brother, Norman Zehr and his parents, Daniel and Mattie (Schultz) Zehr. Father of Daniel and his wife Elaine Zehr of Abbotsford, B.C., Albert and his wife Janet Zehr of Langley, B.C., Lorene and her husband Eugene Martin of Chambersburg, Pa., Ruth and her husband Steve Cahill of Tavistock, Carol and her husband Allan Rosevear of St. John, N.B., Doris Catherine and her husband Wray Bender of RR 1, Tavistock, Gloria and her fiancé Bill Speeroff of Mississauga; grandfather of 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother of Emanuel and his wife Clara Zehr of Poole. Friends and relatives will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock, on Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996, from 3-5 p.m. where a public memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., with his sons, Daniel Zehr and Albert Zehr officiating. A family burial service will be held at East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
