Notes |
- HUEHN, Elizabeth Mae "Betty" On Tuesday morning May 15, 2012, the day after her 84th birthday, with her children at her side, Betty passed away leaving this life to join her husband Chris in Heaven. Betty overcame cancer on several occasions in her later years but succumbed when it recently surfaced yet another time. Betty leaves behind her daughter Susan, (husband Bryan Gordon), son Tom and loving grandchildren Geoff, Chris, Jenn and Zachary Gordon. Throughout her life, Betty purposely sought to be actively involved in her beloved church family, Benton Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir, had a passion for Missions and served in the Out of the Cold Program. She was also involved in the KW Christian Women's Club and Women Alive. Betty supported her husband Chris as a member of The Gideons. The family wishes to express special thanks for the compassionate care that was provided by The Village of Winston Park and most recently Fairview Mennonite Home and especially those who visited with Betty over the last few months. The Huehn family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. The funeral service will be held at Benton Street Baptist Church, 90 Benton St., Kitchener, Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. A reception will be held at the Church following the interment in Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Gideons International would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Visit www.henrywalser.com for Betty's memorial
