A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. __________________________ Joseph S. Shantz - Following a lengthy illness, Joseph S. Shantz, age 66, 61 Cameron street north, Kitchener, died Saturday. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac B. Shantz, deceased was born in Waterloo County on June 21, 1872. He was married to Martha E. Snyder at Elmira in September, 1902. Mr. Shantz was a well-known furniture traveller [sic] for many years. He was a member of Bethany Mennonite church. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Lorne I., and Harold J., both of Woodstock, and Rev. Ward of Toronto and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday to Bethany Mennonite church with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Rev. C. N. Good, pastor of the church, officiated.
