- James Hope, 87, of Roseville, died Friday in Woodstock General Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Hope was born in Roseville and farmed there all his life. He was a member of the United Brethren Church and was a lay preacher. He also taught the Sunday school for more than 50 years. His wife, the former Ida Detwiler, died in 1956.
Surviving are a son and a daughter, George and Elizabeth, both of Roseville. Three brothers and two sisters predeceased him. They are Robert: Thomas and William, and Mary and Ellen.
The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and will be removed at noon tomorrow to the residence in Roseville where a service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. D. M. Cameron of New Dundee and Rev. Evan Sider of Toronto will officiate.
