  Obituary of John Robert Boothby Passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at North York General Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Ruth for 50 wonderful years. Loving father of Janet and her husband Paul Kalmykow and Bob and his wife Carol Ann. Cherished grandfather of Benjamin, Jennifer, Christina, and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents Royal and Freda Boothby. John started his career in personnel before becoming a Teacher/Counsellor for the North York School Board. He will always be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues for his charming and charitable personality. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Dietrich Bonhoeffer Lutheran Church (149 Bay Thorn Drive, Thornhill). Interment will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery (175 Moore Avenue, Kitchener). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Endowment Fund for Christ the King Dietrich Bonhoeffer Lutheran Church, Dominica Outreach Fund c/o N.Y.G.H.
