  ALFRED SHANTZ Alfred Shantz, 84, of Elmira, died in K-W Hospital Wednesday, April 30. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tilman Shantz, he was born in Maryborough Township and moved to the Waterloo district, where he lived until 1918. After farming near Alma for 18 years, he moved to Grimsby and retired to Elmira 17 years ago. He was a member of Elmira Evangelical United Brethran Church. His wife the former Adeline Coote, survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Walter of Fonthill and Urias of Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Kercher and Miss Elsie Shantz, both of Kitchener. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Friday when it was removed to Elmira EUB Church for service at 2: 30 p.m. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery. The Rev. J. Wesley Siebert officiated.
