    • Sudden Death

Norman McCloy Passes Away on Friday in His 23rd Year - It was with much regret that the people of the community learned of the sudden death on Friday afternoon of Norman McCloy, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Haney McCloy, aged 22 years and 5 days. He was taken ill with a cold some three weeks prior to his demise. This was followed by pneumonia and other complications, but it was thought he had successfully combatted the diseases and was on the road to recovery. He took a turn for the worse on Friday afternoon, however, and passed suddenly away. He was a young man of much promise, with a pleasing personality, and his untimely death will be greatly regretted by a host of friends. He is survived by his parents, and the following brothers and sisters, all of whom will have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community in their sad bereavement: Leona, Margaret (Mrs. W. Nickerson), Howard, Verna, Haney, Ariel, Mary, Phyllis. The funeral, which took place on Monday afternoon, was very largely attended, and there were many beautiful floral tributes. The Rev. J. W. Currie conducted the services, and the pallbearers were: Thomas Easton, Laidlaw Nickerson, William Hall, Norman Dance, William McRuer and Walter Barrie.
