  Robert Gladstone A lifelong Ayr resident, Robert Gladstone, passed away at Stirling Retirement Home, Ayr, on Tuesday. September 23rd, 1980. He was in his 83rd year A son of the late William Gladstone and Isabella Reid, he was born on the Gladstone farm, Nithvale Road. Ayr. He farmed the home farm, later retiring to Piper Street, Ayr. Mr. Gladstone was a 60 year member of Dolman Lodge I.O.O.F., Ayr, and a member of Knox United Church, Ayr. Predeceased by his wife, the former Elspeth Marshall in 1976, and a daughter Marian. Surviving are a son William and a daughter Mrs. Milton (Margaret Elspeth) Thomas, both of Ayr, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Resting at the William Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, where service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. D. E. Willis of Ayr will officiate. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
