Notes |
- Mrs. Annie Sage
BLAIR, Jan.. 14. One of Waterloo's best-known and most respected citizens, Annie McKellar, widow of William Sage, died yesterday at the home of her grandson and granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sage, Dickie Settlement, at the age of 90 years. Mrs. Sage, during 50 years of residence in this area, won the respect and admiration of numerous citizens. The Sage farm was the setting for numerous picnics and the deceased, even in her advanced age, maintained the sparkling personality which earned her the reputation of a splendid hostess. Born in Belmont, Ont., she lived in West Oxford, before making her home in this district Her husband predeceased her three years ago. Until recent weeks, Mrs. Sage had remained active and continued her domestic duties at her farm home. Illness two weeks ago, however, resulted in taking up residence with her grandson, Ernest Sage. Surviving is a son, Lorne Sage, Dickie Settlement: nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, Blake, predeceased her in 1940 The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Horne, Preston, where the funeral will take place tomorrow, at 3-30. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
