Notes |
- SOWPEL, Ruby -The family of Ruby Sowpel, age 87, sadly announce her passing on Saturday, May 16, 2009, after suffering a debilitating stroke. She was the loving mother of Kathy and her husband Jim Inch, Nadine and her husband Bob Parsons. Ruby was the best grandmother in the world and was adored by all seven of her grandchildren, Andrew, Chris, Nick and Alex Inch, Charlie, Phil and Emily Parsons. She was so looking forward to three upcoming weddings this year and will be dearly missed by Ashlea Hawker, Heather Asselstine and Carli Rota. Ruby is also survived by her sister, Marcella Menard and brother, Leonard Graff and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew in 2000 and siblings, Elmer, Victor and George Graff, Eileen Wey, Helen Rau, and Leona Vollmer. Her family was al-ways first and foremost in her life and she was especially proud of all their achievements. "Mom" was an avid quilter, loved her plants and flowerbeds and won many a game of Scrabble and Boggle. . No matter how she felt, you could not keep her from pulling weeds, attending lacrosse games, and family gatherings. Ruby will be sadly missed but will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tues-day, May 19, 2009 (today), at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday evening. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's RC Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener with Father Mark Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery. If friends desire, donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or Community Care Access Center who gave countless hours to our mother would be appreciated.
