    • KNECHTEL, Joseph - Peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, in his 100th year. Joseph Knechtel of Breslau, loving husband of the late Dorothy Knechtel (nee Erb), 2006. Loving father of Joan Knechtel of Breslau and Glen (Janet) of Manitoulin Island. Cherished grandfather of Douglas (Raffina), Kim (Jeff) Brenner, Tim (Tammy), Lisa (Tim) Koch; great-grandfather of Amy and Shereen Knechtel, Drew Rees, Nicole Brenner, Thomas, Katelyn and Kalea Knechtel, Dean and Erin Koch. Predeceased by a grandson, Gary, who died tragically in an accident in 1976. Joseph is predeceased by his brothers, Clarence, Richard, and a sister, Olivia Cober. Joseph's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 24, 2009 (time to be announced). Interment Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, remembrances to Bethany United Missionary Church or the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
