- Kropf, Seleda (Everatt) - Whose radiant life caused so many hearts to sing, Seleda now embraced in the arms of her Saviour, Lord Jesus, on Monday, May 3, 1999, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in her 90th year. Seleda was born in Petersburg and was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lorne; her parents, John Everatt and the former Catherine Brunk; brother, Joseph, Sidney and Alvin and sisters, Anne (Snider), Amanda (Roth), Elizabeth (Herner), Clara (Lichti) and Catherine (Mayer). Beloved mother of Marlene and her husband Gerald Ueberschlag of Kitchener and James and his wife Jean of Cambridge. Dearly missed by grandchildren, Lynn and her husband David Clair, Wendy and her husband Murray Priebe and Beth and her husband Steve Plourde; special great-grandmother to Andrew and Matthew Clair and to Joshua, Ethan and Damiel Plourde. Also sadly missed by her sisters, Vera Herrle, Erma Knarr; her sisters-in-law, Annie Kropf, Barbara Litwiller, Arleatha Brown, Viola Shupe and Vera Schiefle; her nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews and many friends and relatives. She was a faithful member of First Mennonite Church and was the cook at the Salvation Army Hostel in Kitchener, before her retirement. Seleda was famous for her baking and cooking and loved to entertain family and friends. Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Transfer will be made to First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E., Kitchener on Thursday at 12 noon followed by the funeral services at 2 p.m., Rev. Rudy Baergen officiating. Internment First Mennonite Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Memorial donations may be made to MCC, House of Friendship or the Multiple Sclerosis Society as expressions of sympathy. God has you in his keeping. We have you in our heart.
