  Peter Shantz, "the eldest, was born August 7th, 1829. On October 4th, 1853, he was married to Elizabeth Martin. They own a beautiful farm in Woolwich Township, about four miles north-west of the town of Waterloo. They have no family." Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
