    • Hudsonville Leader Dies

      William Boldt, 92, Was Bank Ex-President

      Hudsonville - William Boldt, 92, an organizer and former president of Hudsonville State bank and past president of Hudsonville school board, died Friday night at his home here after a two-week illness.

      A native of Canada, Mr. Boldt came to the United States with his parents in 1855, living in Grand Rapids a year before moving to the Hudsonville area. He became a village resident 46 years ago.

      Helped Form Banks.

      Mr. Boldt was instrumental in organizing the first bank here in the early 1900s, serving on its board many years and holding the presidency 15 years. He also was president of the school board 21 years.

      He was a member of the Hudsonville Congregational church and a member of its board many years and was deacon emeritus at the time of his death.

      Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mable Meyer and a son, Martin, both of Hudsonville; a sister, Mrs. Mary Steenman of Buffalo, N. Y., eight grandchildren and 27 great- grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 Tuesday at Hudsonville Congregational church, with burial in Georgetown township cemetery. The body is at the VanderLaan funeral home here.
