- ROES, Lydia - Peacefully, to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at Nithview Home in New Hamburg. Lydia was formerly of Brunner. She was born in Wilmot Township 95 years ago. Daughter of the late Jacob Lichti and the late Catherine Leis. Lydia was a member of the Mornington Amish Mennonite Church, Poole West. Beloved wife of the late Noah Roes who predeceased her December 19, 1987. Beloved mother of Mahlon and his wife Pearl Roes of Waterloo, Jacob and his wife May Roes of Wellesley, Gerald and his wife Diane Roes of Shakespeare and Eva and her husband Earl Erb of RR2, Wellesley. Sister-in-law of Nicholas Jantzi of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by a son Melvin in infancy and by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel and Mary Lichty, Jacob and Nancy Lichty, Veronica and Mose Zehr, Mattie and Noah Jantzi, Katie and John Kuepfer, Nancy and Noah Gascho, Mary Jantzi, Emma and John Ropp, Annie and Joseph Gerber, David and Katie Roes, and Samuel and Mary Roes. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St. in Wellesley, where family and friends will be received today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Followed by a public service at the Mornington Amish Mennonite Church, Poole West at 2 p.m. Bishop Aaron J. Jantzi will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials to Nith View Home auxiliary or to the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
