- HACKBART, Oscar J. - On Saturday, February 24, 1979, at his home in Heidelberg, after a brief illness, Oscar J. Hackbart in his 84th year. He was the son of the late Charles Hackbart and the former Margaret Schmitt. Dear husband of Eugenia Doering, to whom he was married 57 years ago at Philipsburg, Ont., loving father of Roy of Baden, Audrey (Mrs. Harold Dietrich) of Waterloo, Robert of Waterloo, Phyllis (Mrs. Alfred Mohr) of St. Jacobs and Lorne of Wellesley; brother of Edwin of Kitchener, Nelson of Heidelberg and Mrs. Clara Schneider of Elmira. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Charles, and Harvey; two sisters Olga (Mrs. Lorne Schmidt) and Margaret. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg and had been employed at Canada Barrel and Keg Ltd. for over 30 years and retired in 1967. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. this evening, until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, thence to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, for the funeral and committal service on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Frank Mantz will conduct the service. Interment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Heidelberg.
