  John Stoeckle, "was born in Bavaria, Germany, in 1768, and was married in 1796 to Mary Witmer who was born in 1770. They had a family of nine children, of whom five died in infancy. Of the remaining four the name of only one was received" Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
