- Eli Groff - Eli Groff, 70, of 247 Franklin St., died Wednesday at his residence after a brief illness. Mr. Groff, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Groff was born in Waterloo County on Jan 28, 1896. He was employed as a machinist at the Hahn Brass Co., New Hamburg, until his retirement. Surviving are two brothers, Simon, New Hamburg; Moses, Kitchener; six sisters, Mrs. Harry (Lydian) Vic, St. Wallburg, Sask.; Mabel Groff, Kitchener; Mrs. Ida Kaiser, Waterloo; Mrs. Ena Gross, New York; Mrs. David (Louise) Jantzi, Kitchener; and Mrs. Omar (Elsie) Snider, New Hamburg. The body is at the Keffer Funeral Home where a service will be held Friday at 3: 30 pm. Rev. Curtis C. Cressman of New Hamburg Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be in Shantz Mennonite Cemetery, Baden.
