Notes |
- Rev. C. H. Owen, Dies.
Word was received from London of the death of Rev. Charles H. P. Owen of that city. Rev. Mr. Owen held the rectorship of the Wilmot Anglican parish for 12 years. He left here about 20 years ago and although retired from active preaching he served as city chaplain in London, accepting the position two years ago. Born at Blackheath, London, Eng., he came to Canada at an early age. He was a graduate of Wycliffe College, Toronto.
Twice married he is survived by his second wife, nee Lucy Tye of Haysville, two daughters, Mrs. Bultiel of Chatham and Mrs. Davies of Brantford.
The funeral was held from his home in London to the St. James Anglican Church, Huron Road, where services were conducted at 3 p.m. by Rt. Rev. C. A. Seager of London. Rev. R. C. Pitts, rector of the parish was one of the assistants.
