- LITT, LAURENE LOUISE (nee PFANNER) 1916 - 2004
Passed away peacefully, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at the age of 88 years. Laurene was born April 21, 1916 in New Hamburg. Beloved wife of the late Oliver Litt (2002) whom she married in 1940. Loving mother of Frederick and his wife Diane of Kitchener and Dr. James Litt of Timmins. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Darrin and Tracy, Steven and Leslie, Christopher, Jason and Berta, Julianne and Terry as well as her great-grandchildren Athens, Landon, and Rhiane. Laurene is also survived by one brother Russ and his wife Marge of Waterloo-, sisters-in-law, Kaye Pfanner of Waterloo, Edna Litt of Clifford, Florence and her husband Bill Girodat of Kitchener, brother-in-law Lloyd Lift and his wife Lois of Ayton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Carolyn Litt. Besides her loving husband, Laurene was predeceased by a son in infancy, daughter-in-law Rita (2004), parents Martin and Matilda (Wettlaufer) Pfanner. Brothers Clayton, Harry and Robert and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Laurene was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Conestoga. She was a seamstress by trade and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Prior to her retirement she was an owner/operator along with her husband Oliver of the Newton General Store. Friends are invited to share their memories of Laurene with her family during visitation at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo today (Thursday, May 13, 2004) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Laurene's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, May 14, 2004 at 3 p.m. A time of fellowship with the family will immediately follow the funeral service on the upper level of the funeral home. I
