    • SHISKO, Marion Doreen (nee Hine) At Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira, Ontario, formerly of Lindsay, Ontario, passed away on May 13, 2010 on her 87th birthday. Marion was born in 1923 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up in Port Arthur, Ontario, (now Thunder Bay) and lived her married life in Iroquois Falls, Toronto, Gananoque and Montreal. Predeceased by her parents Charles Mitchell Hine (1960) and Mabel Rose Hine (nee Shelmerdine, 1978) and by her sister Elizabeth "Betty" (1936). Also predeceased by her loving husband Nicholas "Nick" Shisko (1999). Dear mother of Linda Shisko (Peterborough), Leanne and husband Kurt Penfold (Elmira) and Andrew Shisko and wife Margaret (Quito, Ecuador). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew, Christopher and Erin Penfold (deceased 1987) and Alexandra and Nicole Shisko. Growing up in Port Arthur, Marion enjoyed her summers at Two Island Lake. She worked at Port Arthur Technical School, for the CPR in Calgary, as a stenographer at the Banff Springs Hotel and for the Industrial Development Bank in Toronto. In 1950 she returned to Port Arthur to marry Nick and strongly supported her husband throughout his engineering career. She contributed to the work of St. Olave's Church and Meals-on-Wheels (Toronto), volunteered at the Art Gallery (Lindsay) and made many good friends over a social game of bridge. Her life was dedicated to the care of her immediate family and special occasions for her were whenever family got together. A special thank you to the staff of Chateau Gardens ALC and subsequently Leisureworld in Elmira for their compassionate care of our mother. A private family service will be held at Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur Street South, Elmira, Ontario (519-669-2207) www.dreisingerfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's name may be made to Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Ontario, through the funeral home or directly to the hospital via www.grovesfoundation.com <https://www.grovesfoundation.com>
