Notes - SOUTHWOOD (Berlin) - We regret to have to announce the death by drowning this morning of William T. Southwood, an estimable young man, late in the employ of Dr. Holder of this town. It appears that he, in company with some others, was bathing near Flint's wharf about 5 o'clock when by some miscalculation he got beyond his depth, and being unable to swim, sank, and was drowned. The body was raised about an hour afterwards, and taken home to his sorrowing relatives. He was an only son, was of an amiable disposition, and his sudden death has cast a gloom over the entire community.
