- MRS. HENRY SNYDER
Edith May Beirnes, widow of the late Henry Snyder and formerly Mrs. Irvine S. Hagey, died in St., Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, yesterday, in her 50th year, The late Mrs. Snyder was born in Puslinch township, attended school in Holland township and lived the greater part of her life in this district. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Biernes. Ailing for some time the deceased was removed to the hospital yesterday morning. An active member in the work of the Zion United church, the deceased was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society of that church. She was also a member of the Women's Institute. She married Henry Snyder in 1934. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Wolfe, of Dobbington, and Miss Grace Hagey, at home; a son, Lloyd Hagey, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Theron Sauder and Mrs. Hazel Strenks, both of Waterloo township, Mrs. James Peacock of Dobbington and Mrs. Oscar Asmussen of North Battleford; four brothers, Edward Beirnes, Markdale, John Beirnes, Owen Sound, William Beirnes, Denver, Colorado, and Wellington Beirnes of Williamsfort, Ont. There are four grandchildren, Irvine, Ronald, William and Gerald Wolfe. Her first husband, Mr. Hagey, predeceased her eight years ago, and her second husband, Mr. Snyder, predeceased her in 1934. The remains are resting at the late residence, Breslau road. The funeral will take place on Thursday with a short private service at the residence, Breslau road, followed by service in Zion United church at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in Preston cemetery.
