- Christian Bliehm, "the old progenitor of the Bliehm family, was born in Canton, Berne, Switzerland, in 1741, and when he was about seventeen years of age he, in company with others, emigrated to America and landed at Philadelphia in 1758. He settled in Montgomery County where he was married to Salome Langenoecker in 1769. They had a family of seven children,"
