    • SPOONER, Wilbert Richard

      At Riverbend Place, in Cambridge, on Saturday, September 25th, 1993, in his 88th year, Bert Spooner, beloved husband of his first wife, the late Annie (nee Fairclough) and his second, wife, the late Jessie (nee McCarthy). Dear father of Bernice (Mrs. Bert Carey of Guelph, Marion (Mrs. Jack Donnelly) of Ocala, Florida, Joan (Mrs. John Greenlee) of Hamilton, Dorothy (Mrs. Ron Schnarr) of Waterloo and Richard and his wife Lynn of Cambridge. Loved grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of James Spooner of Newmarket. He was predeceased by one son Joseph and two grandsons Robert Greenlee and Joseph Schnarr and eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Spooner was born in Galt. He was Past President and Life Time Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Galt Branch #121. He was a member of the Highland Light Infantry of Canada and he served overseas with the First Canadian Division during W.W. 2, from 1939 to 1945. Friends will be received at COUTTS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 96 St. Anndrews Street, Cambridge, on Monday, from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 1-2 p.m. A Legion Service under the auspices of Royal Canadian Legion, Galt Branch #121, will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, at 7: 00 p.m. Funeral Service will be in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, at 2: 00 p.m. Rev. Gordon Griggs officiating. Interment in Mount View Cemetery.
