- DR. PRITCHARD DIES
TORONTO, Oct. 12-(CP)-Active in the ministry for more than 40 years, Rev. Dr. James Henry Pritchard died in hospital here Sunday. He was 75. Dr. Pritchard was prominent in the formation of the United Church of Canada and was one of those who signed the basis of church union in 1925 which united Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational churches. He had served in Brantford, Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto churches.

Early Alexandra Church Minister Dies at Toronto
A page in the history of Alexandra Presbyterian Church here closed Sunday with the death at Toronto of the church's first minister Rev Henry James Pritchard He was 75 Dr Pritchard was ordained in 1902 in First Presbyterian Church here then situated on the premises now occupied by the YWCA. He was the first minister of Alexandra Church After serving here five and one-half years he accepted a call to First Presbyterian Church Galt in 1907. Dr Pritchard was prominent in the formation of the United Church of Canada and was one of those who signed the Basis of Church Union in 1925 which united Methodist Presbyterian and Congregational churches Dr Pritchard served in Sault Ste Marie and Toronto churches as well as in Brantford and Galt being active in the ministry for more than 40 years. He served on various boards of the United Church for many years.
