Notes |
- WEBER, Elizabeth Anne (Edmonds) - On Thursday, April 13, 2000, after a short illness, age 68.
Anne was a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities.
She is survived by her husband. Bill, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage; devoted mother of Pamela Weber and her husband James Midwinter of Calgary, David Weber and his wife Ruth of Waterloo, Jay Weber of Carleton Place and Cindy Weber and her partner Ron Laurie of Waterloo; special grandmother of Adam and Shelby Weber and Nigel, Calvin and Derrick Midwinter.
Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Mabel Edmonds of Waterloo.
Anne had a huge circle of friends and acquaintances, many of whom she met through her lifelong passion for bridge, her tireless work as a hospital volunteer and her participation for many years in Scottish Country Dancing. She continued to make new friends while remaining intensely loyal to old ones, many of whom remember her for her countless acts of support and kindness to anyone sick or in trouble, and for her one-of-a-kind, irrepressible sense of humour. In mid-life, Anne pursued a fascination with mountain trekking, which led to treks in Nepal, Tanzania, Peru, Thailand and Great Britain.
Cremation has taken place. At Anne's request, there will be no funeral home visitation or service. A celebration of her life will be held in the Reception Room of the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., in Waterloo on Sunday, April 16, 2000 from 2-5 p.m. Anne's wish for this gathering was specifically not to have any speeches or formal tributes, but for friends to come and share their special memories and feelings in conversation with the family and others.
