  BECKETT, JOHN SMITH On Friday, June 18, 1954, at Galt, of R. R. #2, Puslinch, in his 79th year. Mr. Beckett was born in Sheffield, England on December 25, 1875, the son of the late Catherine Smith and John Beckett. He lived in Sheffield for twenty-five years, went to Eramosa in 1902, then to Galt and had lived on the farm since that time. He retired from farming ten years ago. He was married in Eramosa on Nov. 16, 1904 to Mary Minerva Rudell who survives him, as well as three sons, Fred Beckett of Halifax; Frank Beckett of Hespeler; John Beckett; one daughter, Kathleen (Mrs. Joseph Anthony) of Limehouse, ON; one brother, Fred Beckett of R. R. #2, Puslinch; two sisters in England and one in South Africa; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Beckett was an adherent of the Anglican Church. Service at the Stager Funeral Home, Galt St., Hespeler on Monday at 2: 30. Rev. M. G. McFarlane of Hespeler United Church officiated. Pallbearers: Robert Scott, Gordon Bridgeman, Dan Cudney, Angus McMillan, and Scott Fixter of R. R. #2, Hespeler; Clarence Bartels of Hespeler. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.
