  • Notes 
    • Oscar Strome, employed as foreman at Snyder's Limited, Waterloo, dropped dead n the office of the desk department at 9 o'clock on Friday morning, Feb. 23. Death was believed due to a heart attack. The news of MR. Strome's death came as a sudden shock to his many Elmira friends. He had previously been in the best of health.

      Deceased was 52 years of age and had previously been in charge of the Elmira branch of Snyder's Limited. For the past seven years he had been a member of the Waterloo plant staff. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira.

      Surviving are his wife, one son, Claire, his mother, Mrs. Frank Strome, Sr., who had been residing at the home of her deceased son; two brothers, Frank and Harvey, and two sisters, Mrs. Edmund Link and Mrs. Fred Conrad, all of Elmira.

      The funeral was held on Monday afternoon with service at the house at 2 o'clock followed by service at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Rev. F. Malinsky officiated.

      Paul bearers were Messrs. Walter Wilken, August Pfaff, Hilbert Weichel, Harry Weichel, Norman Ruppel and Walter Schaus.
