    • Passing of William McDonald

      Word was received here on Sunday, of the death of Mr. Wm. McDonald, Galt, which sad event took place early that morning, after a somewhat lengthy illness, at the age of 64 years. The many friends of the deceased in Ayr and vicinity, deeply regret his early demise and will extend their sympathy to the bereaved. Mr. McDonald was born in South Dumfries, spending the greater part of his young manhood near New Dundee. Shortly after his marriage he removed to a farm seven miles west of Galt, where he resided until two years ago, when, upon retiring, he finally made his home in Galt. A widow, two sons and two daughters survive, Misses Belle and Jean, at home, Dr. Herbert, who is practising dentistry in Toronto and Ernest, who is attending the Dental College in Toronto. Three sisters and two brothers also survive, Messrs. John and Alex of New Dundee ; Mrs. D. Scott, Elora ; Mrs. T. Lake, Cedar Creek ; and Mrs. J. Adams, Chesterfield. Quite a number of friends and relatives in this section, attended the funeral at Galt, on Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Dickson. The pallbearers were Messrs. John Welsh, John Henderson, Jas. Marhall, Robt. Carrick, Robt. Cranston, and Robt. Gibson.
