    • Elias W. Eby, "was born July 6th, 1848. He resided at South Valejo, California, U.S., until a few weeks before his death. He returned to Caledonia, Michigan, where he died at his brother Benjamin's residence, August 28th, 1883. His body was brought to Berlin, Ontario, and interred at the Eby graveyard, east of Berlin. He was not married."

      28 Aug 1883 Elias W. Eby of Bridgeport died of consumption in Caledonia, Michigan at age of 35 years & was buried in the Mennonite cemetery in Berlin on Aug. 29th. The deceased had been working in a mill in California, but had been sickly for the last two years. Because of his sickness, he left California a short time ago, arrived at the house of his brother in Michigan on Aug. 20th & died there a week later
