  He began farming on the old homstead. He purchased the first threshing machine in his section, and did the threshing for quite a distance around. In 1830-40 he built a house and barn on the old Groff homestead, then mostly timber land, which he cleared gradually. In 1876 Mr. Wissler sold the farm to Henry C.
