  BAER, Eldon Wayne - Passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 one week after suffering a massive stroke, in his 81st year at his residence Greenwood Court Nursing Home, Stratford. He was born December 30, 1928 in Wilmot Township youngest son of the late Ezra and Elizabeth (Good) Baer. Wayne was a member of Avon Mennonite Church, Stratford. He enjoyed farm work for many years and more recently volunteered as a groundskeeper at Greenwood Court. Wayne is lovingly remembered by brother Morgan and his wife Mae of New Hamburg, by sister Erma Meadows of Stratford, by sisters-in-law Pauline Baer of Moorefield, and Rose Baer of Abbotsford, British Columbia, and by a number of nieces and nephews and their families. Wayne was predeceased by brothers Elmer, Curtis, and Orval and by brother-in-law Roy Meadows. Friends and relatives may call at Avon Mennonite Church, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford on Thursday (today) from 2-3 p.m. and again from 7-9 p.m at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg. On Friday, November 27, 2009 a public committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Avon Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Herb Sawatzky officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or Greenwood Court.
