    • Gingerich, -- Allen, son of Jacob and Lydia (Lehman) Gingerich, was born at Bade, Ont., July 16, 1909; died suddenly at his home near Castoland, N. Y., Jan. 22, 1951; aged 41 y. 6 m. 6 d. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and on Nov. 20, 1938, a few months after his marriage he was ordained to the ministry and was faithful in the service of his Lord. On June 14, 1938, he was married to Marian Zehr, who mourns the loss of a kind and helpful companion. Four children were born to this union. One son died at birth. Surviving are three children (Emanuel, Eunice, and John Mark), 3 brothers (Simon and Harvey, Lowville, N. Y.), 3 sisters (Vera-Mrs. Eli Erb, Esther-Mrs. Levi Shrag; and Irene-Mrs. Norma Moshier), his mother (Mrs. Lydia Gingerich), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He passed away in his sleep of coronary thrombosis. Funeral services were held on Jan. 25, at the home by Elias Zehr and at the Dadville Church by Lloyd Boshart, who read II Pet. 1. The sermon was preached by Emanuel Swartendruber, Pigeon, Mich. Text: Amos 4: 12. Interment in the Croghan Cemetery.
