  SPEARS, Helen - Much loved mother, Mrs. Helen Georgina Spears, age 91, passed away peacefully at her residence People Care, Stratford on Thursday, August 16, 2007. She was born in Kurtzville, Ontario September 22, 1915, daughter of the late John and Levina (Mogk) Hoffman. She was a member of St. John's United Church, Stratford. Predeceased by her husband, Roy Wesley Spears in 1953. Helen is survived by her three sons, John Spears (Marian), Chatham, William Spears, David Spears (Shirley), all of Stratford. Loving grandmother to Michaelanne Kerrigan (Allan), Chatham, Shandra Spears, Toronto, Barbara Gosselin (James), Stratford. Great-grandmother of Ashley, Jessica, Bradly and Dallas. Also survived by a brother James Hoffman (Ruth), Orillia and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by step-father George Miller; by brothers and sisters, George Hoffman (Adelaide), Mary Ann Reeves (Albert), Cecil Hoffman (May), Rose Miller, Wilfred Miller, Leonard Miller (Barbara), Marie Tytko (Stanley), Mae Reidel (John) and William Miller (Ella). Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, August 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Greg White, Pastor of St. John's United Church will officiate. Interment in Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to People Care, Stratford or the charity of one's choice through the funeral home.
