- FOSTER, Peter Dr. OD. M.Sc.- At Hamilton General Hospital, as a result of injuries sustained in an accident last week, Dr. Peter Foster, went to be with his Lord, on Saturday, March 10, 2001 in his 46th year.
Peter and his wife Carol Cressman Foster were married in 1979 and blessed with three children, Andrew (1990), Rachel (1991) and Nicole (1994). Survived by his mother, Florence; his brother, Stephen and his twin sister, Pam. Predeceased by his father, Donald in 1985.
Peter was born in Fredericton, NB and spent his early years in Halifax, NS prior to moving to Kitchener in 1969. A graduate of Grand River High School, he attended the University of Waterloo and graduated as an Optometrist in 1979. Following a year of practice in London, he and Carol taught Optometry at the University of Benin, Nigeria. Upon his return to Canada, he completed a Masters of Science (Corneal Physiology) and then joined his wife in private practice. Peter loved spending time on his farm near St. Agatha with his family, surrounded by nature. The Foster's are members of Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church.
Dr. Foster's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The fu- neral service will be held at Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church on Sunday, March 18, 2001at 2 p.m., with Pastor and friend Brad Klassen officiating. Interment to follow in Rosebank Cemetery later this spring. Following the funeral service friends are invited to join the family in the lower Church Auditorium for a time of fellowship, refreshments and a celbration of Peter's life.
