- MAZUREK, Frederic Michael August 12, 1936 - April 12, 2016 Fred passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at Wellington Hospice on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the age of 79. A loving husband, father and grandfather whose life long goal was to ensure the well being and happiness of his family. Fred loved his family deeply and was always there to support them. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Letson) for 59 years. Loving father of Dave (Evelyn), Teresa Tovey (Jeff), Fran Lang (Dave), Fred (Lisa) and Lori Lavery (Paul). Grandfather of Tom, Margo (fiancé Conor Gray), Mitchel (Katie), Matthew, Kay and Megan. Dear brother of Dorothy Trepanier (Maurice - deceased), Connie Krische (Robert - deceased) and Michael (Shirley). Predeceased by parents (Michael and Leona nee Ciepielusz), sister Mary Nowak (Joe) and brother Harry (Fernande). Fred has shown great courage and determination throughout his life, but especially in recent years while facing health issues. He was committed to community, having served three years with the Royal Canadian Air Force and retiring from the Waterloo Regional Police Service as a Deputy Chief of Police, after 34 years of service. Fred enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and golfing. Fred's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. A private funeral mass for extended family will take place Monday, April 18th at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa Avila Church, 19 Flamingo Drive, Elmira followed by a reception in the church hall.
