Kitchener, July 22 - Motoring to Au Gres, Michigan yesterday to attend the funeral of a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Roth, of Baden, were reached as they prepared to cross the border at Sarnia and informed their son, Ernest, 21, had been killed with two friends in a railway crossing crash near their home. Today they arranged for the funeral of their young son. The other victims were Glen Schwartzentruber, 16, and Raymond Snyder, 11. All were Mennonites. The three were killed instantly when struck by a Canadian National Railways train in charge of Edward Milner, Toronto, conductor, and William Flint, Toronto, engineer, on a crossing leading to the Samuel Roth farm. They were returning from a field, where they had been dusting potatoes. Roth, who was married to the former Mildred Roth last September, also is survived by his parents, one brother, Calvin, and two sisters, Agness and Mrs. Rufus Bender, Baden. Schwartzentruber, a son of Mr. And Mrs. Simon Schwartzentruber, is survived by his parents, six brothers, Arthur, Nyle, Clare, Elverne, Simon and Waybe, and six sisters, Leona, Ellen, Erma, Rita, Ruth and Arlene, all at home. Snyder is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Snyder; a brother, Vernus, at hoem, and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Bechtel, Mrs. Ethel Roth and Ruth Snyder, all of Baden.

Roth.-Ernest Timothy, son of Samuel S. and Barbara (Jantzi) Roth, was born in Wilmot Twp., Waterloo Co., Ont., Sept. 22, 1925; died July 21, 1947; aged 21 y. 9 m. 29 d. He met his death along with Ray Snyder and Glen Schwartzentruber, in a railway crossing accident on his parents' farm, near Baden, Ont. Surviving are his ten-month bride (Mildred May Roth, Petersburg, Ont.), his parents, 2 sisters (Ellen-Mrs. Rufus Bender, of Baden; and Agnes, a student at E.M.C., Harrisonburg, Va.), 2 brothers (Calvin and Nevin, at home), and many other relatives and friends. Early in youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized into the fellowship of the Wilmot A.M. Church, near Baden. He was loyal and deeply conscientious, cheerful in any task assigned to him. Funeral services were conducted at the home by M. O. Jantzi and at the church by Peter Nafziger and Oscar Burkholder. Text: Amos 3:6. Burial was made in the Steinman A.M.Cemetery, near Baden.
