- McCORMICK, James "Jim" - It is with great sadness that the family of James Earl (Jim) McCormick announces his passing to his eternal reward on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Jim's courage, positive attitude and determination to win over his illnesses were and will always be an inspiration to our family. He was optimistic and hopeful to the end. Our sincere thanks to the family of the donor of the liver and for the professional care given by the doctors and nurses at University Hospital, London and Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Survived by his loving wife, Pat (Johnston) McCormick. Dear father of John and Susan of Guelph, Mike and Tina of Princeton, Ron and Rosemary of Bamberg, Dale and Anita of Woodstock and Dwayne of Kitchener. Papa "Jimmy" to Emily and Sarah; Kayla and Jessica; Josephine, Mary Ellen, Mason and Marshall; Celia, Annika, Paul, Mark and John. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joyce and Don Zinger of RR 2, Elmira, Mary Lou and Bill Armstrong of Kitchener, Bob and Doreen McCormick of Brantford and Edna McCormick of Elmira. Predeceased by his parents, William and Marie (Walter) McCormick; his sister, Anne Nowak and his brothers, Lavalle, Fred and Ken. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph's RC Church, Macton on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Robert Hétu officiating followed by interment in St. Joseph's RC Cemetery, Macton. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. In his memory, donations to the Transplant Unit of University Hospital, London or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
