  SCHROEDER, Howard John - Peacefully, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Friday, November 2, 2007, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Helen Spiegelberg (1986). Loving father of Joan Chrysafidis and her husband Chris. Predeceased by son Bruce Schroeder (2000), and father-in-law of Linda Schroeder. Cherished grandfather of Jordan (Karen), Katherine (Demian), Jason (Jessica), Wesley and Bradley. Great-grandfather of Christian, Sebastian, Adelaide and Petra. Predeceased by parents, William and Alvina Schroeder; brother, Harold and sister, Esther. Howard was employed at Baetz Brothers Furniture for 40 years and at Ontario Office Outfitters. He enjoyed his new found family at Emmanuel Village Retirement Home, especially his card games.He was also a longtime and faithful member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 (today) from 7-9 p.m. Service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 137 Queen Street South, Kitchener with Rev. R.E. Winger officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope cemetery (Kitchener). Reception will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre following the interment. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Grand River Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.
