- STECKLEY, Amos - Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 3, 1987, at Stratford General Hospital, Amos Steckley, of RR 1, Brunner, and formerly of Wellesley, born in Wilmot township, 68 years ago.
He was a son of the late Nicholas Steckley and the late Catherine Jantzi. He was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church, where he served on church council as secretary-treasurer; he was also employed at Novatronics of Canada Ltd., Stratford.
Beloved husband of the former Emma Gerber of RR 1, Brunner; dear father of Ralph and his wife Mary Ann Steckley of Wellesley and Elaine (Mrs. Manuel Perez) of Devon, Alta.; step-father to Raymond and Deborah Gerber of RR 1, Brunner, Doris (Mrs. Wayne Dotzert) of RR 1, Stratford, Mary Ellen (Mrs. Arnold Yantzi) of Millbank and Lynda (Mrs. Wesley Kuepfer) of RR 1, Wellesley; dear brother of Nancy (Mrs. Amos Zehr) of Millbank and Elizabeth (Mrs. Emanuel W. Gerber) of RR 1, Millbank. Lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren.
Predeceased by his first wife, Esther Erb, May 6, 1976; also by four brothers, Peter, Aaron, Ezra and one in infancy and four sisters, Magdale na, Mary, Sarah and Katie.
Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening (Wednesday) from 79 and Thursday from 24 and 7-9. A noon Friday, March 6, removal will be made to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2.30, Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Alan Nafziger will officiate. Spring interment will be in Maple View Mennonite cemetery.
Remembrances to the Western Ontario Conference of Ministries or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
