  Benjamin L. Eby, "the fourth member of Peter Eby's family, was first married, September 9th, 1851, to Barbara Martin who was born September 26th, 1830, and died July 23rd, 1876. They resided on a farm near St. Jacobs, Ontario. Some time after the decease of his wife he was married to Magdalena Detweiler. (See No. 2300) They reside in the town of Berlin. Mr. Eby's family consists of twelve children, of whom seven were born unto his first wife." Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
