  Shantz.-Ada (Eby) Shantz was born near Waterloo, Ont., Aug. 17, 1893; died Sept. 24, 1918; aged 25 y. 1 m. 7 d. In early life she gave her heart to the Lord, joined the Mennonite Church and has been a faithful member till death. On March 20, 1917, she was united in marriage to Abram Shantz, which union was blessed with one daughter which was taken and is cared for by its aunt, Mrs. Josiah Bearinger. She leaves to mourn her early departure, her husband, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 27, at the Waterloo Mennonite Church by the brethren, Urias Weber (from Prov. 23: 23), and Jonas Snider (from Isa. 35: 10). Buried in the First Mennonite Cemetery, Kitchener, Ont. Gospel Herald - Volume XI, Number 30 - October 24, 1918 - pages 558 and 559 ___________ Sad Death of Mrs. Abr. Shantz The sad and untimely death of Ada Eby, beloved wife of Mr. Abr. Shantz of Waterloo, took place on Tuesday night at 9:15 o'clock at the K-W Hospital. The deceased is survived by her husband, a baby girl, two days old, her parents, three brothers and five sisters. The funeral will be held on Friday Sept. 27th at 2 o'clock from the residence, Frederick St. to the Mennonite Church for services and from thence to the East End Cemetery, Kitchener, for interment.
