- Daniel S. Brenneman
The death occurred in Cassel on Monday, February 15th, of Daniel S. Brenneman at the age of 22 years, 9 months and 22 days. He had been ill for several months. The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brenneman and was born on the homestead adjoining New Hamburg on the South. After his marriage in 1880 to Catharine Ropp he farmed for many years in East Zorra and later moved to Colorado where he resided for 12 years. He returned to his old home neighborhood and lived in Cassel for the past thirty years. The deceased was a faithful member of the Amish-Mennonite Church and was widely known and respected. His wife predeceased hi 1- years ago, but he leaves two sons, Deputy Reeve John R. Brenneman, of Cassel, Gideon R. Brenneman, of Stratford, and one adopted daughter, Mrs. Christian Baechler, of Blake, besides 10 grandchildren, one brother, Joseph, of Haysville, and two sisters, Mrs. John e. Schwartzentruber, New Hamburg, and Mrs. Catharine Schultz, of Thurman, Colorado.
The funeral was held from the home of his son in Cassel on Wednesday afternoon to the 16th line A. M. Church, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. A very large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the funeral.
