  SCHMIDT, William W. - On Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1983, at Mar- tin's Rest Home, Elmira, after a lengthy illness, William W. Schmidt, aged 93 years, of RR 3, Waterloo. Mr. Schmidt was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Agatha, where he served on the church council for 16 years; farmed at Rummelhardt and was a rural mail carrier for 20 years. Beloved husband of the former Caroline Westfall; father of Floyd of Drumbo, Reta Kneisel of Lisbon, Ralph of Bridgeport, Ward of Conestogo, Beatrice Clemmer of New Hamburg, Glen of Kitchener, Wray of Washington, U.S.A., Nyle of Cambridge, Cleo of Alberta, Doreen Jacobi of Waterloo, Dorothy Jutzi of Port Elgin and Audrey Schumm of Tavistock. Thirty-six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive. Brother of Simon of Kitchener and Gordon of Windsor. Predeceased by a son, Harley; a daughter, Ina; two grandchildren; four brothers, Henry, Jacob, Walter and Alfred; two sisters, Annie Kummer and Emma Huehn. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener after 7 p.m. this evening, until 11 a.m. on Saturday, then at Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg for the funeral service Saturday 2 p.m. Rev.
