- HAMMER, Edward Joseph Of Cambridge, on Friday, November 18, 2005, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Mary Pienta. Dear father of John and his wife Cheryl, Edward and his wife Bonnie, Jim and his companion Carol, Larry and his wife Patena, Doug and his wife Mary Ellen, Don and his wife Alyson, Veronica Kerr, Connie Hammer and her husband Derrick Watson, Debbie Coyne, Sherry Ham mer, all of Cambridge and Cathy Murphy and her hus band Brian of Waterloo. Lovingly remembered by 18 grandchildren. Survived by four sisters Ruth Becker of Maryhill, Lorraine Prickett and her husband Wilson of Cambridge, Patsy Moore of Burford, Cora Brooke and her husband Dewey of Cambridge and one brother Arthur of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents William and Alice Hammer and one brother Bill. Mr. Hammer was born in Kitchener and had been a resident of Cambridge since 1951. He was a member of St. Clem ent's R.C. Church, a Veteran of the Second World War and was retired from J.M. Schneiders. The family received friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass was cel ebrated at St. Clement's R.C. Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 10 a.m. In terment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Prayers were recited at the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario will be gratefully appreci ated by the family.
