    • HARVARD ARNOLD PERRIN
      May 14, 1906 December 21, 1987

Born in Brantford, Ontario, he was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters born to Wellington and Emma Perrin. He moved west to the area near Cochrane, Alberta in the 1930's and in 1942 married Lillian Anne Marshall. In the spring of 1943, he moved to Dawson Creek to work on the Alaska Highway. In 1947 Harvard and Lillian started the lodge at Mile 996 known as Canyon Creek Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife in 1955.

Harvey loved the Yukon and seldom left it for very long. On one such trip in 1979, he suffered a massive stroke which paralyzed him on his right side and limited his speech. He never fully overcame his handicap. He spent seven years residing at Macaulay Lodge.

On Monday, December 21, 1987, the good Lord relieved Harvey of his pain and he passed away at Whitehorse General Hospital. Harvey is survived by sons, Marshall and family, of Terrace, B.C., and Keith and family, of Vancouver, B.C. He is also survived by sisters Ruth, Ruby, and Eva, and brothers Lloyd and Cecil of Ontario. Many other relations live in the Calgary area.

Funeral services were held December 30th, 1987 at the United Church with Reverend Don Lewis officiating. Interment followed at Grey Mountain Cemetery.
