  CURTIS, Patricia (nee Thompson) 1928 - 2016 On Saturday, April 2, 2016, Patricia passed away peacefully at peopleCare nursing home in Kitchener. Patricia was predeceased in 2009 by Jack, her loving and devoted husband of 54 years. Patricia will be greatly missed by her son Kevin Curtis, daughter Nadine Koppeser, daughter- in-law Valerie Hoag, son-in-law Michael Koppeser and four wonderful grandchildren: Brent, Olivia, Brooke and Fiona. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Joyce Lockhart and family, who reside in the United States, as well as by Jack's brother, Peter Curtis and his family in England. Patricia, who grew up in Bermuda, met Jack during his time there as a police officer. Patricia and Jack married in 1955 and then immigrated to Canada in 1958. Pat, being loving and kind, devoted her life to support Jack through his 23 1/2 year battle with the effects of Guillian-Barre Syndrome, after which sadly, she developed Alzheimer's during the last years of her life. Cremation has taken place and a private family service in celebration of her life was held at St. John's Anglican Church on Saturday, April 9th. Donations to St. John's Anglican Church or the Alzheimer Society, in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated. Waterloo Region Record: Apr 16, 2016
